Parts Needed To Build A Computer

To build a new desktop computer can save you a lot of money. The cost to buy new computer parts have dropped a little bit every year, and now you can build your own computer for under $500, and still get great parts. If you are not a gamer, there’s no need to get the highest performing hardware parts such as graphic cards, the latest processor or a $300 motherboard. To browse the internet, paying bills, using an Office program and playing bingo online doesn’t require the top performing computer parts, and there’s just a waste of money to use the parts you don’t need.

Computer Parts

Choose A Motherboard!

There are many manufacturers to choose between, but if you look for computer parts at online stores like Amazon, you will not risk your money if you get wrong or damaged hardware parts. When you look for a motherboard, you must decide if you want an Intel or an AMD motherboard. AMD is usually cheaper and if you want a cheap computer with high quality, AMD is what I recommend. Look for a motherboard with integrated audio and on-board graphics, spending $100+ for a graphic card is not necessary if you don’t want to play PC games that require a lot of graphic resources.

Choose The Right processor!

The processor (CPU) is the brain of a computer and it is important to choose the right one. A very powerful CPU requires a lot of cooling and more power, so keep in mind that you need to spend more money on a CPU cooler and a power supply if you want to have a very high performing CPU. To keep the costs down, choose a CPU that can perform without additional cooling systems. If you choose AMD as your motherboard manufacturer, the CPU has to be from AMD as well. AMD uses socket AM3, FM1 and so on, so make sure your motherboard and processor got the same socket.

Other Computer Parts!

Other computer parts such as RAM memory, a Hard disk, a computer case, a DVD drive and a power supply is also important parts you must have when you build your computer. To know which RAM you need, check your motherboard details. It should show for example: Supports DDR3 1866/1600/1333/1066 MHz memory modules. Then you need RAM memory that supports the same memory modules. Make sure you keep the costs down, and look for special prices because a DVD drive and RAM memory should not cost too much.

Parts Needed To build A Cheap Computer!

A hard disk is of course an important part, but don’t spend too much money on hard disk space you don’t need. The average computer user hardly need more than 500GB of space, and if you in the future need more space, you can install a new hard disk in your computer. It is nice to have a good computer case, but don’t spend money on a nice design, because the design will not make your computer good. It’s better to spend some extra bucks on a hardware part than on a computer case design.

An Example Of A Cheap Computer:

You see, it doesn’t have to cost a lot of money to build a new computer. The only extra cost you might face is if you need an operating system. You still can get one for under $100, and that will keep your costs under $500 anyway. So, if you are planning to get a new computer, don’t overspend.
